  • Calibrating Geological Records of Environmental Change from Lakes to Oceans

Welcome

2009 Symposium "Calibrating Geological Records of Environmental Change from Lakes to Oceans" (5-10 July)

Over the last 25 years, Earth scientists have developed methodologies, known as proxies, to interpret geological archives of environmental change and natural hazards derived from marine and lacustrine sediments. The conference aims to bring Earth scientists working with modern processes together with those working with geologic samples to evaluate these proxies and review existing geochemical and geophysical records from modern settings and ancient rocks.

Organizers

Judith A. McKenzie, Flavio Anselmetti and Gerald Haug

Accomodation and Costs

Participants will be accommodated at the Centro Stefano Franscini. The registration fee for the entire conference is CHF 500/person, which includes room and full pension. The event is sponsored by the Climate Geology Group, formerly Earth Systems Science Group, of the Geological Institute, ETH Zürich.
